Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

The Physyiology of Action Lab is equipped with a single pulse TMS stimulator and a repetitive TMS stimulator. Single-pulse TMS is used for chronometry to disrupt the function of a corticalregion at a certain time during observation/execution of the task, and to measure corticospinal excitability through the generation of motor evoked potentials by combining TMS with electromyography (EMG). Repetitive TMS is also used for chronometry (triple-pulse TMS) or induce a reversible brain lesion (theta burst stimulation or 1 Hz TMS).
